Description

Red foxes are widespread mammals in the fox family. They have a long body and tail that is covered in red fur. They have black fur on their feet and on the tips of their ears and a distinctive white tuft on their tail. They can survive in a large number of different habitats, including forests, grasslands, deserts, mountains, and suburban areas. Foxes eat both animals and plants, they will eat many different species. Their favourite are small mammals which include, mice, rats and voles. Red foxes can be found across all of the northern hemisphere. They are very widespread and the only areas they are not found in are Iceland, extreme deserts, some areas of Siberia and the Arctic islands. Red foxes can be found from the Artic circle all the way to North Africa, Asia, and Central America.
