Description
The highland cow is a Scottish breed of rustic cow, originating in the Scottish Highlands and Outer Hebrides, but can now be found in many parts of the world. They have long wide horns and wavy, woolly coats. They are experts at foraging for food in steep mountain areas where they graze and eat plants, they also use their horns to dig through snow to find buried plants. Weighing up to 800 kilos and standing at 90 to 120 cm.
They are to be found in Scotland, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland and USA.
