Description

Leopards are large cats that live in Africa and across southern Asia. Humans threaten leopards and because of these threats they no longer live in many areas that they once did. These large cats have light-colored fur and black spots and rosettes across their entire body. The rosettes look somewhat like hollowed-out spots. Males are much larger than the females and they can stand up to 28 in. tall at the shoulder. They can weigh nearly 200 lbs., females usually weigh much less. Most leopards like to live in areas with trees for them to hide in. Their two main habitats are rainforests and savannas. They are carnivores and eat only meat which includes wildebeest, warthogs, gazelles and many more.

They live in sub-Saharan Africa, northeast Africa, Central Asia, India, and China.
