Description
The American Bison are broad and muscular with shaggy long hair and can grow up to 2 metres in height and 3.5 metres in length. They can weigh up to 1,270 kilos. The European bison weigh up to 1,000 kilos but tend to be taller. They travel in herds eating a large variety of plants.
The American bison live in river valleys and on prairies and plains, typically open grasslands. The European bison typically lives in lightly to fully wooded areas.
