Description
The Robin is the UK’s favourite bird, with its bright red breast. Males and females look identical. Young birds have no red breast and are golden brown. Robins sing nearly all year round. They are aggressively territorial and are quick to drive away intruders. They will sing at night next to street lights. Their diet consists of worms, seeds, fruits, insects and other invertebrates. The adult European robin can be around 12.5–14.0 cm long and weighs between 16–22 g, with a wingspan of 20–22 cm.
