Description

The Hedgehog is a small spiny animal. There are 17 different species across the world. People keep several different species of Hedgehogs as pets. They have round bodies and short legs and from the edge of their faces to their bodies they have short spines across the surface of their skin. They have no spines on their faces, legs and underbellies. They live in all types of regions like deserts while other species live in forests or meadows, savanna, grassland, woodland and more. They can occupy farms, parks and even suburbs and backyard gardens. The European Hedgehog is particularly fond of urban areas. The different species have different ranges and distributions. Some species of hedgehog live across incredibly wide areas, while others inhabit just a small region. Four species live in Africa, and the rest live across Eurasia.
