Description
European or Eurasian Badgers have stout bodies and short legs and they measure about 2 and a half feet long and can weigh between 15 and 40 lbs. They are normally grey across their back and sides but the fur on their legs and across their eyes is black and the rest of their heads and the underbelly is white. Their favorite habitat is woodland and forests and nearby meadows or fields. They eat a variety of different plant parts, insects, invertebrates and small animals. Earthworms are their favorite food. European Badgers live throughout much of Europe into western Asia and parts of the Middle East. They can be found throughout nearly all of Europe but not in the northernmost parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland. They also live in Western Russia, parts of Syria, Iraq, Iran parts of Afghanistan and Turkmenistan.
